“Look at me dawg” Kyrie Irving puts Ben Simmons in utter disbelief as he knocks down buzzer-beater to maintain perfect shooting record
Kyrie Irving hits buzzer beater against the Cavaliers
Brooklyn star guard Kyrie Irving stunned the entire Nets bench when he shot an unbalanced mid-range buzzer-beater to get the team into 15 points lead against the Cavaliers before the second quarter ended on Tuesday night.
Kyrie Irving was on fire against the Cleveland Cavaliers as their defense had no answer to his offensive gameplay. The Nets guard scored 34 points, 12 assists, and made 12 of 15 from field goals, with 3 of 6 from behind the arc. While looking at his stats it’s clear that the former Cavs star was making the game for the Nets by focusing more on the field goal area rather than attempting more three-pointers.
Meanwhile, in the game, Irving made many off-balance shots but the mid-range shot which caught the most eyes came at the end of the first half. When he was trying to make his way inside the arc Caris Levert and Evan Mobley double-teamed to stop the former Champion from scoring but it was not enough to stop Irving as he had an unbelievable shot when just a few milliseconds were left before the ending of the second quarter.
Star guard Kyrie Irving-led Nets beat Cavaliers in NBA Play-In Tournament
The Nets dominated the whole game from the start when they got 20 points lead in the first quarter. The team was led by Irving in scoring but he got proper support from his teammate Kevin Durant who scored 25 points and 11 assists, and even¸ Bruce Brown added 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists, whereas Andre Drummond made 16 points.
Due to great teamwork, the Nets were able to defeat the Cavaliers by 115-108 and have confirmed their 7th seed position in the east with a playoffs first-round matchup with the Boston Celtics from coming Sunday.
Former Celtic guard Irving said, “I know that team very well and they know us very well and it’ll be a back and forth, and once you throw that ball in the air, you’re going to really see some spectacular basketball.”
Kyrie has already predicted that the upcoming round will be not as easy as the play-in tournament because they will face tough competition from the Celtics Squad who are the second seed in the east where even Durant agreed to him and said, “It ain’t going to be that easy, I’m going to tell you that.”
