Michael Jordan BLATANTLY rejected the notion of him keeping off Isiah Thomas off the Dream Team due to personal grudges
Michael Jordan clarified that he did not leave Isiah Thomas out of the Dream Team in 1992 on his documentary, 'The Last Dance'.

In 1992 for the Barcelona Olympics, the United States assembled a team of NBA stars, with Michael Jordan leading the way. The rumor is that since the Detroit Pistons had a rivalry with Michael Jordan in the 1980’s Jordan had a personal grudge against point guard Isiah Thomas. “I never threw his name in there.”
MJ greatly respects Isiah Thomas, as he mentioned in his documentary ‘The Last Dance.’ MJ said – “To me, the greatest point guard of all time is Magic, and right behind him is Isiah Thomas, no matter how much I hate him.” The part where he hates him always makes fans wonder as if he had something to do with Isiah not being on the team.
Thomas was an NBA Champion and a Finals MVP as well. He was one of the best point guards in the league. John Stockton was also a premier point guard and was significantly younger and selected over Isaiah on the squad. However, Christian Laettener, a college player, was the most suspicious selection, as Isiah could have easily replaced him with all the talent already on the roster at power forward.

Michael Jordan has explained why he hates Isaiah Thomas on ‘The Last Dance‘
In MJ’S famous ‘Last Dance’ documentary, he dived deeper into the selection in 1992 and said, “Based on the environment and the camaraderie that happened on that team. It was best harmony. Would Isiah have made a different feeling on that team? Yes“. Jordan claims that he was not the only one who had issues with Thomas, as his Detroit Pistons teams used to beat up and foul everyone in the league.
“If you want to attribute it to me, be my guest. It wasn’t me,” said MJ on the Last Dance. Jordan seems not ready to be the sole culprit of Isiah’s removal but does not care what the people believe. All this hatred stems from the Detroit Piston’s infamous ‘walk-off’ against the Chicago Bulls when they finally beat them in 1991.
The Detroit Pistons players left the floor with time left on the clock as their team was about to lose the Eastern Conference Finals to their bitter rivals. Michael Jordan felt disrespected by Isiah and has had a grudge against him since then. The Jordan and Isiah beef will go on forever, but the mystery remains as to whether he left him off the Dream Team or not.
