Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan was determined to remain at the top when he was playing in the NBA. It is quite well-known about his competitive spirit and how he often went to various extremes in order for him to prove himself. The former 6x Champion was a very fierce breed who never liked to have anybody be above himself.

There have been several stories about him nearly injuring his children, belittling his teammates, and burying his opponents in his dominance. But nothing quite compares to what extent he went to remain the best. His former trainer revealed that Michael Jordan paid him money, especially for loyalty towards him and train none of the other NBA ballers at that time.

Tim Grover revealed this during an interview with “Diary of a CEO.” Grover exposed the Chicago Bulls legend by saying, “He gave me one of the best compliments that you can ever get at the highest level. When somebody else would say ‘Hey, I want to hire Tim,’ he goes, ‘I don’t pay Tim to train me.’ He goes, ‘I pay him not to train anybody else.'”

Tim eventually gave in to one of his offers and began training Kobe Bryant. The Black Mamba is known for being one of the closest things in comparison to Michael Jordan. Whether it was based on attitude, skill, or dominance, Bryant had a killer mentality just like his brother in crime, MJ.

In his book, Grover explained claimed he did not like comparing the two players. He said, “I don’t like to compare, because to me they were so different and unique that it’s an injustice to both.” He also told CNBC that they were both trained in different ways despite them being eerily similar.

Both individuals have a special place in the history of the league. Michael Jordan’s entry triggered a chain reaction filled with success and dominance. It went from him to Kobe, LeBron, and now is slowly transitioning into a new era with today’s youngsters.
