The season of love is yet to start from next month but for NBA it has started one month before, currently it was reported that Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons secretly proposed to girlfriend Maya Jama and got engaged. The pair made their relationship official on Christmas Day.
The couple wanted to keep their special moment private and only to their loved one, but if you are a celebrity your life is like an open book in public. Ben Simmons and Maya Jama were dating for the last six months until Simmons decided to propose her.
According to the Sun, ‘Ben adores Maya and has fallen head over heels for her. He picked up the ring on Jewelers’ Row in the diamond district of Philadelphia the day before he proposed.’ Sun sources also reported that, “Simmons chose the ring himself and felt he knew exactly what she would want. Maya said yes and they’re both thrilled.”

Just after the news went viral NBA fans went crazy on twitter as Simmons was engaged with Maya. Earlier Ben Simmons have also dated Kendall Jenner, but they split up in summer of 2019 excusing that their relationship had ‘ran its course.’ But later Simmons got close to Maya Jama in the May 2021 and they are having a great time spending with each other.
Maya Jama is British Television host and co-hosted famous show like BBC One’s ‘Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer,’ `2020 EE BAFTA red carpet` and ‘Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star’. She has even won People’s Choice Award for the best dressed star in the UK & Ireland in 2019.
Ben Simmons have not played a single match since the start of the 2021-22 NBA season, because he previously demanded for the trade, but 76ers didn’t accepted it as they want a better player in their team. Currently, Simmons claimed that he is not mentally ready to play in NBA.
That’s the reason why Simmons engagement with Maya is, so much in controversy. We hope for better future for the pair and let’s see how all-star player Ben Simmons bounces back into the league.
