Michael Beasley has played for seven teams in the National Basketball Association from Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks to Miami Heat and many more. He also played for the Chinese Basketball Association as he signed with the Guangdong Southern Tigers for a year. Before this season he was seen professionally hooping at NBA’s Vegas Summer League as the 6 ft. 9 inches big forward joined the Portland Trailblazers and averaged 11.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks in 22.7 minutes per game.

Recently Michael opened up in a interview with HoopsHype as he shared many stories, spoke about his return to the league and how is he been feeling lately about the game. In the interview he discussed a incident which still lives on the internet and gets laughed on as fans were unaware and don’t know the emotional connection and harsh reality behind it.

Michael during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers once forgot his game shorts and went to the scorer’s table to check in but got denied as the ref didn’t allow him to enter with wrong shorts on. Fans made it a meme and it gets passed on every year but recently Michael came out and revealed how his stressed mental health got that happening as a lot was going with him and he was just trying to battle his way out.

Michael Beasley discussing the incident in a interview quoted: “Off the court, my mom died when I was playing for the Lakers. I fought through that, and I came back. My cousin died the game I forgot my shorts in Oklahoma. I was battling that day, trying to fight through it. I wanted to go to the funeral, but I was already gone when my mom died. I just wanted to be there for the team, and the whole world just laughed at me. My whole career, I’ve never been given a chance to show who I really am, how I can really play, show that I can really win and be somebody. The whole world laughed at me. It hurt my feelings. I’m not going to lie.”

Michael further adding to it also mentioned how he not liking pity till the day even has his close friends ignorant about the harsh reality behind him getting declared as the joker as he said: “No. I don’t like pity…… I thought it would die over (referring to the jokes about forgetting his shorts). That sh*t didn’t die. Every f*cking year that sh*t lived on. Even my close friends don’t even know. I let them have the joke because if it makes people happy, it makes people happy, rather than going around and making people sad.”

Michael Beasley has suffered a lot on both the ends from on-court and off-court too. Since the star lost his mom, cousin, contract and respect as he discussed many unfortunate instances of his career in his latest interview. But not giving up and having the head high with all the great talent. Michael Beasley the 33 year old veteran now is aiming for a comeback at the league to shut all the wrong mouths down and prove his point of just not getting trusted well.
