Nets News: James Harden reveals honest reaction when asked about Kyrie Irving’s importance in home games

James Harden didn’t have a good game against the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night in New York. To add to that, his team Brooklyn Nets had to take an embarrassing loss as well.

Harden had 16 points and seven assists for the night, his 3rd straight game with less than 20 points and less than 10 assists. This was exacerbated with five turnovers to his name too. He was also -20 for the game, 2nd worst in the lineup.

The Brooklyn Nets continue to have a bad rhythm. They have now lost four of their last five games. The only game they were able to win in that stretch was against the Indiana Pacers, who are 14-25 for the season. All other teams that the Nets lost to in this stretch were all above .500 teams – Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the latest Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Another arresting fact is that all these were home games for the Nets.

When several Nets players entered into Health and Safety Protocols at the same time, Nets felt the urge to dial an un-utilized asset in Kyrie Irving after banning him to play this season unless he gets the vaccine. But amid many mixed reactions, the Nets allowed Kyrie to play road games without the vaccine dose.

Kyrie Irving made his season debut in the previous game when the Brooklyn Nets faced the Indiana Pacers. This has been the Nets’ only victory in this five-game stretch. 

James Harden on whether the Nets ask Kyrie to get vaccinated

James Harden in a post game interview was asked about the communication in the Nets camp regarding Kyrie Irving. The reporter asked Harden – “Do you guys talk to him at all about ‘Hey, we need you.’?” Harden interrupted the reporter saying ‘He knows that…He knows that’.

The reporter then asked – “Do you talk to him at all about the vaccination?”, to which Harden replied with a simple ‘Nah’. The Nets players have been supportive of Kyrie’s stance on vaccination ever since this season started. Having said that, they are happy to have him back, even if it is only for the road games.
