Nets News: Kevin Durant exchanges words with a courtside fan after said to “stop crying,” gets fined $25,000 by the NBA for directing obscene language
The recent match-up of Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena of Atlanta resulted in a victory for the Nets. The Brooklyn Nets are currently ranked at 1st place in the eastern conference with a record of 19-8(W-L) and the Atlanta Hawks are ranked at 9th place in the eastern conference with a record tied at 13 wins and 13 losses.
Kevin Durant stepped up for the Brooklyn Nets when the team needed him and even closed a close contested match-up to a victory by 8 points. The game was quite head to head for 3 straight quarters where Atlanta was leading but got locked up in the 4th quarter by Brooklyn Nets and lost the game. Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young and Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant also had a heated moment in the game which later in the post game interview was revealed as respect and love from both the sides.

Kevin Durant had 31 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds when the game whistle was called. Trae Young also had a similar and bit better stat line but lost the game due to lack of efforts in the last minutes. He recorded 31 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. In the same game KD also exchanged some words with a Hawks fan sitting courtside and was later fined by the league to do so.

This is the second time this season that Durant has been fined by the league. He was also fined $25,000 in October for throwing the ball into the stands out of frustration during a game against the Indiana Pacers. This time Kevin Durant is fined $25,000 for his exchange with a fan where he is seen using swear words.
The official statement from the league:“Nets forward Kevin Durant has been fined $25,000 for directing obscene language toward a fan, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations. The incident took place with 28 seconds remaining in the second quarter of the Nets’ 113-105 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Dec. 10 at State Farm Arena.”

The fan yelled out and told Kevin Durant to stop crying to which Kevin Durant replied back and said :“Shut yo ass up, motherf*.” This exchange may be somewhere got into KD’s mind but it didn’t really mattered as he won the game and also showed one of his best performance so far this season on both the ends of the court.
