Sports TV personality Skip Bayless ruthlessly burns Russell Westbrook for his comments about him not having a fair chance in the Los Angeles Lakers. Which came when the purple and gold army ended their misery-season with a hard-fought win over the Denver Nuggets.

With a suffocating end to the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2022 season, many figure pointing and speculations started to flood around Crypto Center. LeBron James and Anthony Davis proved themselves capable of winning a title in the 2020 Finals. But with improved opponents, the Lakers needed to make some changes to provide help to their veteran scorer, LeBron James and injury-prone Anthony Davis. As a result of which, in came the help of Russell Westbrook.

Los Angeles Lakers used most of their assets to bring superstar players to Hollywood, but there was a huge difference between the expectations and the actual results on the floor. Russell Westbrook, targeted by many fans and analysts for a poor Lake show, had a very different reaction to his performance in the season.

As per Westbrook, he was not given a fair chance in his first season with the Lakers. Skip Bayless took no time to react to such a “delusional” comment as he said, “In all my years of watching every sport very closely, I have never, ever seen a player as defiantly delusional as this player.”

Skip declared the comment as a mix of funny and sad, mostly sad at times. Skip was on the “Undisputed” show with Shannon Sharp discussing Westbrook’s “Sad” season with the Lakers. Ruthless Skip blasted Westbrook with stats in his hand, which not only contradicted Russell’s claims but helped Skip to roast him.

Skip gave out statistics supporting his points. He said, “The only problem we had with Russ is that he never owned the ounce of this (poor performance), Not one time, one word came out of his mouth about I gotta to better, I gotta shot better, I gotta be more careful with the basketball.”

For taking care of the basketball, Skip pointed out that Russell Westbrook led NBA in turnovers – more of a negative statistic no point guard will be happy to lead-in. Westbrook was 2nd in NBA for turnovers in the league after leading for an entire year. But before Los Angeles Lakers, Westbrook tended to turn the ball over as he was in the top 2 for 8 seasons out of 15 seasons played.

Also, Skip pointed out that 33-years old player lost his scoring touch as he was subpar with the shootings. He showed 65% efficiency in “Dunking” and similar productions in the Free throw shooting. Also, the LA Lakers starter 3-point shooting was one of the worst in the league.

So as per Skip, Westbrook’s claim regarding not having a “fair chance” with the team was a complete misinterpretation of the season. Also, some reports suggested that Westbrook never gave due respect to Coach Frank Vogel, which is very unprofessional at the highest level team game.
