Shaquille O’Neal has made his way back to the NBA headlines as recently appearing on the “PBD Podcast” and sitting alongside Patrick Bet-David at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas the big guy made a shocking claim. Everyone is shocked since then as it was very unexpected. Because Shaquille O’Neal who is known as the most dominant force ever seen in the league claimed to get bullied by girls in his youth.
Shaquille O’Neal has years ago told out his class clown and bully stories where he was at the receiving end. And, now him revealing another part of it where he even got beaten up is just hard to believe. Shaquille O’Neal right now is listed at the height of 7 ft 1 inch and weighs around 325 lbs. He was around 6 ft 6 inches tall when he was just twelve years old. So a big guy like him getting bullied and beaten up by girls is just hard to believe but that’s what he claimed.
Shaquille O’Neal on the stage discussing his career, league and life at a point quoted: “I had this girl, Monica, she used to beat me up all the time. … No guys, just girls.” Monica would have been really strong and competitive to go against Shaq and end up beating him up. As that’s something even basketball legends like Charles Barkley failed to do.
But eventually, after his teen years when he made it to the league and was an adult. It wasn’t Monica but it was Shaquille O’Neal who was manhandling all of his rivals in the paint and gifting them posters every time he suited up. The big guy went on to become one of the greatest centers ever and made it to the Hall of Fame too. He won four championships and has a hard to match resume with several awards, honors and records registered under his name.

As in retirement, he became an analyst, musician and most importantly a businessman and a smart investor. The Big Guy during all these years has been a good investor and some of his great investments have been in Google, Loyal3, Apple, Papa John’s, Auntie Annie’s, Five Guys, Krispy Kreme, Lyft, 24 Hour Fitness and several tech companies, start-ups and you name what.
In retirement where a lot of athletes go broke due to their spending habits. Shaquille O’Neal is one of the very few names who have earned more and spent more in retirement. As of 2022 he is listed with a net worth of $400 million and more, he has also made it to the list of Top 20 richest athletes ever and a major part of Shaq’s wealth comes from his off-court business decisions. And, there is a lot more to come as he isn’t done and is still out there chasing the bag.
