Aaron Gordon caused a stir on social media when he said he would compete in a dunk contest, but with one condition. Fans are enthusiastic about it because the dunk contest hasn’t generated much excitement in a while.
The demand is not one you often hear from a player, it is a ticket to the all-star game in exchange. Aaron Gordon demanded, “If I’m in the All-Star Game, I’ll do the Dunk Contest”. The all-star game is to be played next month.
Fans are unable to remain calm after hearing about Aaron Gordon’s condition. They began trolling the celebrity for his demand, one fan commented, “Tryna finesse his way into a game he has no business in,” and another one said, “If he gets in the all-star game I might actually stop watching basketball”.
The response from the audience suggests that Gordon won’t participate in the Slam Dunk Contest in the upcoming seasons. However, the Nuggets are greatly gaining from his performance which in turn is making him an important role player.
Aaron Gordon stars in victory over Indiana Pacers
During Friday’s 134-111 victory over Indiana, Aaron Gordon finished with 28 points (11-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-9 FT), five rebounds, and six assists in 30 minutes. The forward has been averaging 15.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.2 combined blocks as well as steals since the start of the new year.
Jamal Murray replicated Nikola Jokic’s productivity, who leads the league in triple-doubles, by finishing with 17 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds. When Murray achieved his goal, Jokic applauded his point-guard partner from courtside.
Due to hamstring soreness, Nikola Jokic, the two-time defending MVP, missed the game. The Western Conference leaders Denver Nuggets extended their home winning streak to 16 games as Michael Porter Jr. contributed with 19 points. They are undefeated since the loss to Dallas on December 6 at Ball Arena.
“I was just playing our game, playing aggressive,” Murray explained. He continued, “We were just having fun out there. The ball was hopping. I didn’t know he was going to come in looking like a peach,” Murray joked.“He steals a lot of my triple-doubles. It was nice to finally get one on the board.”
