Kyrie Irving is a Free Agent and everyone is waiting for him to announce his decisions for his career ahead. The story is also very similar to his sneakers. As after parting ways with Nike in early December of last year, he’s a sneaker Free Agent too. Kyrie Irving’s sneakers were undoubtedly one of the best in the business. Now fans are waiting on him to join forces with another brand as they miss his kicks.
Adidas and New Balance were the front runners in acquiring Kyrie Irving for their brands. But unexpectedly, Uncle Drew recently revealed a glimpse of his new sneaker during a summer camp session. It wasn’t Adidas or New Balance instead it was the Chinese company, Anta. To be precise Kyrie Irving was wearing Anta Shock Wave Pro 5 at his annual summer basketball camp.
Kyrie Irving in one of his recent IG Live where he thrashed the media also mentioned that he’d be soon announcing his new shoe deal. In the IG Live, he quoted: “I will be signing my new shoe deal very, very soon. I won’t even call it a shoe deal. I’m about to blow this out of the water. I’m so excited about it.”
So far no announcements of him getting on board with Anta are made but him donning that brand already is a clear message. Anta since the last decade is trying to grow worldwide and has seven athletes from the league in their roster. Some of their biggest signings were Chandler Parson and Kevin Garnett. Right now Anta’s face in basketball is Klay Thompson. They also have James Wiseman, Gordon Hayward, Alex Caruso, and others on their roster. And, once they officially land Kyrie Irving they can be in some serious business.

Why did Nike cut ties with Kyrie Irving?
Kyrie Irving was one of the brightest stars in Nike’s sneakers business. But he was unhappy with the last two shoes of his, especially with the designs. But that wasn’t the reason behind their parting ways. Nike discontinuing their deal with Kai after a decade really marked the end of an era. It all started when Nike suspended their relationship with Kyrie Irving on November 4, 2022, after his controversial actions on Twitter.
Kyrie Irving shared a link to an antisemitic film that hurt the feelings of many people around the globe. This got him kicked out of the Nike roster and his spot was soon replaced by Ja Morant. In a statement at that time,
Nike wrote: “At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism.” Those two months were really the worst months of Kyrie Irving’s ongoing career.
