It has been a spectacular season put up by the point guard of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant. The player has earned the respect of many Hall of Famers and legend around the league. He is one of the most dominant young guards in the league putting up numbers of an MVP player. Looking at him, it is safe to say that the league is slowly transitioning into its newest era.
The Grizzlies have been a very successful group this season reaching one of the top spots in the league with a record of 56 wins and 26 losses. Last night, the team managed to get past their round one opponents to make the Western Conference Semi-Finals for the first time in seven long years. Their next challenge will be facing three-time champions Golden State Warriors.
Allen Iverson sees greatness within Ja Morant
Ja Morant has definitely become earned his respect from other players. Too many players around the league look up to him as a major threat on offense and his explosiveness can catch most defenders off guard. The league has seen many players like the young point guard specifically Allen Iverson who was as dominant as Morant during the 2000s era.
AI spoke about the Grizzlies star in the Dan Patrick show saying, “I see greatness, I see a once in a lifetime talent. I see a lot of myself in him as far as fearlessness, him being a competitor, him just being a killer that could change the game in so many ways. I see someone that his teammates love and believe in.” The Hall of Famer would compare himself to the attitude of Morant’s saying that his teammates do not feel the need of having another superstar as they trust Ja Morant enough to lead them to a title.

Ja Morant had a late blossoming this season averaging below 25 points per game before the all-star break and then exploding onto the scene. He averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game during the regular season. He also made an appearance on the MVP ladder finishing No. 4 on the list.
The star led his team to a first-round victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-2. Morant averaged 21.6 points in the series along with 10.5 assists per game. His dominance along with Desmond Bane’s scoring could work wonders against their upcoming opponents in round two.
