Kyrie Irving, who was a part of many trade rumors during the off-season, has decided to stay put with the Dallas Mavericks. Many believe the reason behind it is the limited market he had. Mavs’ front office would be thrilled after re-signing Irving and looking forward to an entire season of him and Luka Doncic balling out. But not many are happy with them running it back, especially NBA analyst Justin Termine.
Termine isn’t riding with the franchise’s decision to retain Irving after the guard penned a three-year $126 million deal. According to the analyst, this move might spell the end of Luka Doncic’s time with the Mavericks. As the franchise n re-signed Irving, he labeled it as a “massive mistake,” citing his turbulent tenure with his previous teams.
In my opinion, this spells the end to Luka Doncic’s time in Dallas. The Dallas Mavericks and I love Mark Cuban so I am sorry I have to say this. They are making a massive mistake and are not learning the lesson that they know now in Cleveland and Boston and Brooklyn.said Termine.
So Kyrie Irving, who went on to lead 9-18 after going to Dallas last year. He needs the ball in his hands, can not defend, does not do the small things, missed a ton of games is usually a distraction. Now you give him a security to kinda misbehave. He said.
Termine also mentioned how the team is trying to run it back after a disappointing end last season. The Mavs missed the playoffs entirely, with Luka Doncic and Irving unable to find their footing as a duo.
Can Kyrie Irving turn the tables around, pairing up with Luka Doncic?
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving can undoubtedly be among the most formidable duos in this league. However, they struggled to establish their footing as a duo the previous season.
They will, however, have plenty of time until the start of the next season to develop court chemistry. If Irving and Doncic can play their best alongside each other, it would spell danger for the entire league.
The front office is also trying to bring in the correct pieces around the duo. But unfortunately, the fanbase still isn’t trusting Kyrie Irving to be the answer to their vows. This is understandable the player’s history with his past teams hasn’t been that great. It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds for the Mavericks.
