Stephen Curry without a doubt is the face of the Golden State Warriors and maybe along with LeBron James of the Lakers, he is the face of the NBA of this generation. According to Forbes’ annual value rating, which was revealed on Thursday, the Warriors are the most expensive NBA club for the first time, and veteran Andre Iguodala understands precisely why Golden State is worth $7 billion.

In Forbes’ history of ranking franchise values, this is the first time an NBA club other than the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks has occupied the first slot. The Lakers are in third place with a $5.9 billion revenue, $6.1 billion behind New York. Speaking on the matter this is what Andre Iguodala had to say, “Steph [Curry] got a piece of that?” Iguodala is fully aware of what Stephen Curry means to the organization, which Joe Lacob and Peter Guber acquired in 2010 for $450 million.

Curry’s presence was a major factor in Iguodala’s decision to join the Warriors in 2013, and the two NBA Finals MVPs have a tight relationship. The “Chef” has greatly contributed to the Warriors’ transformation from a recurrent lottery club to a franchise with international appeal. He is now in the first year of a four-year deal for a little over $48 million this year and around $215 million overall, and as NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole points out, the four-time NBA champion may not be getting enough money given his importance to the team.

Thursday night’s 123-110 victory over the Miami Heat by the Golden State Warriors saw Stephen Curry maintain his strong start to the year. He led the way with 33 points, adding seven rebounds, nine assists, and seven made 3-pointers to his total. In the fourth quarter, Stephen Curry made a flurry of difficult jump shots for 10 of his 33 points to knock the Heat out of contention.

As seen by his fourth 30-point performance in five games so far this season, performances like this one have become commonplace for Curry. His teammates are consistently in awe of his genius. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the Heat’s All-Star tandem, led the team with 27 and 26 points, respectively.

Miami was on the second night of a back-to-back; the previous night, in Portland, they had upset the unbeaten Portland Trail Blazers 119-98. The Heat now has a poor 2-4 record for the season as a result of the loss. However, the Warriors’ subsequent contest will take place against the 2-2 Charlotte Hornets on the road on Saturday. The Warriors’ five-game road journey will get underway with this contest.
