Andre Iguodala is a real one as he is one of the few names who have stepped up against the senseless hate for Russell Westbrook. It has even been said and claimed many times before that Brodie isn’t the right guy to blame as he was just scapegoated throughout the tough times and was placed on the trading radar. The right ones to blame are LeGM (LeBron James) and the front office for putting together a veteran roster with chemistry issues. But all these are fan-made claims so nothing can be done about them. As the Big Three of Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis and LeBron James never really worked so everyone says what they want to. Andre Iguodala though is spitting out some facts as he defends Mr. Triple Double from the senseless hate of the media as they picture Russ as a villain.
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a terrible time last season as they didn’t even make it to the play-in tournament and got their head coach fired and now are also stuck with a veteran roster with very less room for new adjustments and signings. But they have already improved since the draft as they have added in some young guns. Russell Westbrook’s future though is still uncertain with the Lakers even though Darvin Ham favors him but the rumors around are just not letting it all happen and the media plays an important role in it. So Andre Iguodala blaming the media for their unnecessary takes on Russell Westbrook isn’t wrong as they are just hating on the former MVP for no solid reason.
Russell Westbrook though deserves a part of it as he wasn’t able to make a difference last season and carry his team across. But it wasn’t just him as it’s a team game but the trolls and hates are more on his side. As many around just want him to leave Los Angeles Lakers and find a new home something he’s trying to do since he left Oklahoma City Thunder and the way the media is portraying him they aren’t really letting that happen too. As Andre Iguodala mentioned in the recent episode of Point Forward.

Andre Iguodala discussing the situation around Russell Westbrook and the undeserved hate he gets quoted: “When these headlines hit or certain news hits the wire, sometimes you gotta take a step back and say, ‘Why would this be put out?’ I get pissed when they always have Russell Westbrook’s news like ‘This package went, they declined it. This team declined Russell Westbrook, this team declined Russell Westbrook… What are you really trying to do to this man? What did he do to y’all? ‘Cause, y’all just constantly keep doing this. What are you trying to accomplish?”
There aren’t many guys like Andre Iguodala in the league right now. So it’s high time for Russell Westbrook to step up for himself and get the job done by playing like a beast out there something he’s known for to shut down all his haters. If Russell Westbrook survives the offseason in the purple and yellow nation we may get to spectate one of the most beautiful revenges ever but if he’s traded away we will never know the real potential the Lakers built last season.
