Andre Iguodala is undoubtedly one of the finest veterans that every team in the league will want to have onboard. His experience can not only help the young core to grow and get mentored. But he can also lead the locker room with a voice and have a solid coaching role from the bench as a player. But all of this comes down to Andre Iguodala’s decision about his future in the league. He is yet to announce his retirement and has probably played his final year in the league.
But nothing can be said yet and Iguodala falls in the Free Agency Market. Last season the 4× NBA champion and FMVP helped the Golden State Warriors. But due to injuries was limited to suit up for only 8 games throughout the regular season. And, before that during the Dubs’ Championship Run, he suited for only 31 games. So it’s fair to say that Iggy is really getting old and father time has caught him.
Andre Iguodala though doesn’t believes the same. As maintaining suspense over his unannounced decision about retirement. Recently, he discussed his future plans during an appearance on Gilbert Arenas’ podcast, “Gil’s Arena.” When he was questioned about his future in the league, Iggy smartly didn’t reveal his decision but once again sent out a mixed answer.
Andre Iguodala quoted: “I have been busy. So when I get the opportunity to actually think about it, I have a decision. Nah, I have been busy this summer man. I have been home for like 14 days all summer. Been all over the Earth. Business going well right now. Working on a few things so we will see how it goes.”
Further, when Iguodala was questioned about hitting the court and maintaining the right body shape for the game. He sent out another fiery reply by quoting: “I am African. So we never get out of shape. That’s one thing I never have to worry about. My son… He’s taller than me right now. I gotta remind him I still got it.” So Andre is still in the best shape and even balling out. So it won’t be a shocker if he returns to the league for one more run.

Andre Iguodala’s message to Stephen Curry hints at his retirement
Iguodala on his and Evan Turner’s podcast, “Point Forward,” ten months ago announced his return to the Golden State Warriors for his 19th season. The only reason he didn’t call a career last season was because of Stephen Curry and the core of the team which brought him back for one more season. As Iguodala quoted: “I blame a few people. Steph Curry is one person that I blame. As a group, I am blaming Draymond, Steph, and Klay. Steve Kerr little bit, Bob Myers. They just showed me a lot of love.”
Andre Iguodala mentioned how he was recruited by his guys back to join the Golden State Warriors on a one-year deal after he was retired for the majority of his summer. But he did announce his retirement while reflecting on Stephen Curry recruiting him back to the Dub Nation. He quoted: “I am letting you know now Steph this is the last one.”
That last one is done and now Andre Iguodala can either live with his legacy being forever remembered by calling it a career this summer. But he does have a very valid option for returning back to the league for his 20th season and helping the Dubs or any other franchise in the league.
