Fans always enjoy it when their favorite NBA stars take part in other entertaining activities other than basketball. NBA players are not new to the concept of starring in commercials. Fans thoroughly love to see athletes showcase their acting skills.
Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers stars Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves starred in the Kung Fu Panda 4 commercial with the movie’s voice actor Jack Black. As the fourth part of one of the most loved animated movie series is set to release this week, fans enjoyed their favorite players’ contribution to promoting the movie.
In the hilarious commercial, Black trains the athletes to learn the ways of the “Dragon Warriors” referring to the movie. The pair showcases their talent as actors with some incredible basketball moves. This was the first time Lakers fans saw the duo teamed up for a commercial.
Austin Reaves has been a great addition to the Lakers. After declining 42nd pick with the Detroit Pistons in 2021 draft, the guard signed a deal with the Lakers. This season the athlete is averaging 15.7, rebounds 4.0 and 5.5 assists with 62.1 FG%.

NBA stars usually star in Super Bowl commercials or brand deals. It is rare to see athletes promote movies. Hence, many of the NBA fans did expect Reaves and Davis to see in the Kung Fu Panda 4 commercial. The commercial went viral on social media.
Fans got to see a new side of the in-season tournament champions. The fans loved the funny acting chemistry of Jack Black with the Lakers players. They shared their reactions to the hilarious commercial on social media.
After winning the first-ever in-season tournament, the Lakers have not been able to perform in the regular season. The team is currently the 9th seed in the Western Conference standings with a record of 34-29 as they are going back and forth from 9th and 10th seeds.
