The Los Angeles Lakers have been thrown out of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets after getting clean swept. The Nuggets defeated the Lakers 113-11 to win in Game 4 as Nikola Jokic scored yet another triple-double. With this win, the Nuggets now advance to the NBA Finals, where they’ll face off against the series winner between Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. LeBron James singlehandedly carried his team to this point in the playoffs but couldn’t carry them any further.
Anthony Davis was deemed a “no show” by the fans for not performing exactly when his team needed him. Davis, this season, has been known for performing well in one game and badly in the other, and vice versa. He led the same track record in the Lakers’ Conference Final series against the Nuggets. Davis’ lack of support for James was one of the crucial reasons why the Lakers succumbed to the pressure put up by the Nuggets, as they even gave up a massive lead that they held at one point in the game.
In Game 4 against the Nuggets, Anthony Davis scored 21 points, one assist, and 14 rebounds in 40 minutes. Thanks to Davis’ dismal performance, LeBron James’ record-breaking 40-point play went to waste. Not only did the Lakers concede defeat to the Nuggets, they did it after blowing out a 15-point lead.
With this win, the Nuggets have made franchise history by entering the NBA Finals for the first time. They’ll be hoping to make the most out of this and drench the city of Denver in gold.
