Anthony Edwards, the first pick in the 2020 NBA draft for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has consistently been touted as the NBA’s next-best star. Highly rated during his high school and college days, what sets him apart is his confidence and unwavering belief in becoming the best.

In a recent interview with Complex’s Speedy Morman, he explicitly dismissed the notion that Michael Jordan, acclaimed as the best NBA player of all time and a nine-time NBA All-Defensive First Team player, would have been incapable of guarding him.

Having once dubbed Edwards as the next Michael Jordan, Patrick Beverley’s statement prompted questions about whether MJ could guard Edwards.

Here is his response when he was asked about MJ’s flaws, in an interview with Complex:

Hell nah—no. I ain't gonna say all that, but I'ma do my thing. He gonna know who I am when the game over with.

While acknowledging Michael Jordan as the greatest player of all time, Edwards remains unwavering in his confidence and aspiration to emulate Jordan someday.
