The Minnesota Timberwolves have been a franchise that has struggled to make an impact in the NBA. Although they qualified for the NBA Playoffs, they were trounced 4-1 by the Denver Nuggets in the first round. However, the talent they have in their roster makes them a team with a promising future. The primary player who looks in great touch for the Wolves is Anthony Edwards.

Anthony Edwards has been a highly optimistic and spirited player since his emergence in the NBA. In three years, he has a career average of 21.8 points per game. In the 2023 NBA season, Edwards put up 24.6 points per game. He certainly has been a front-running player for the Wolves. However, the young gun has high goals of being better than the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Anthony Edwards started working with Chris Hines in the Minnesota Timberwolves to work on his personal development. Hines spoke about his first interaction with Edwards and how he responded when asked about what he wanted out of his NBA career. “He said he wanted to be the best shooting guard to ever play,” Hines said. “I said, ‘You know there’s a guy named Michael Jordan?”” He said, ‘I know. I got to get him.’ “

Although the Minnesota Timberwolves had a disappointing end to the season, Edwards has shown promising intent. He spoke about his performance in the 2022-23 NBA season. Moreover, he also spoke about what he has learned in the three years he’s spent in the league. “I mean, I left a lot out there,” Edwards said. “I know what I need to work on. I know what I need to get better at, and I just want to be in the best shape. My season was OK. It could’ve been a lot better.”

Edwards also spoke about traveling to France and working with Rudy Gobert during the summer. Although he intends to spend most of his time in Minnesota, the guard said he wanted to spend time with Gobert and develop a further understanding with him. “Man, I love Rudy. Me and Rudy got a great understanding,” Edwards said. “We talk all the time, and I think he can get a lot better as far as catching the ball, jump hooking. I tell him all the time, like ‘Rudy, I’m (going to) throw you the ball every time. I want you to jump hook or money dunk on somebody,’ and he be like, ‘I got you.’ This summer we’re going to get together and work on it.”

With the Wolves looking to work hard during the off-season, we could expect them to go on a great run in the next NBA season. It will be interesting to see how Edwards plays with the goals he’s set for himself.
