Ben Simmons is back in the NBA headlines, and we may find him donning another team’s jersey next season. The Brooklyn Nets acquired him in exchange for James Harden to form a BIG 3 of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and him. But unfortunately, Simmons wasn’t the same player, and with the superstar duo of Durant and Irving rolling out, the Nets were stuck with him.
The Nets are not thinking of rebuilding anytime soon and want a roster that can compete for a championship. They already have a stacked team with a young and talented core and future superstars. But they still want to get better and build a solid roster. According to recent reports, the Nets are looking to ship out Simmons in a 3-team deal involving the Nets, Miami Heat, and Portland Trail Blazers.
Simmons is yet to retain his older self, form, confidence, and leadership back. And, honestly, he has been of no-good use to the Nets during the past season. He suited up for 42 games averaging 6.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.3 steals.
He has even disappointed the team and fans on the defensive end. A big reason can also be his contract which has the Nets committed $77 million to him over the next two seasons. But the fans reject this idea, claiming no team wants him in their system. And the Nets will have to live with him, especially with the trade value he has in the market at the moment.
NBA Twitter reacts to Brooklyn Nets trying to ship Ben Simmons
The former No.1 draft pick is getting thrashed by the fans since his dramatic exit from the Philadelphia 76ers. And, unfortunately, he can’t stop that as he’s yet to ball out for the past two seasons. The Nets are considering shipping Simmons around in the trade, which will send Damian Lillard to Miami Heat. But some fans believe this won’t happen, as nobody wants Simmons.

Here are some of the reactions posted by fans on Twitter:
The basketball world probably isn’t wrong in calling out Ben Simmons for not being the guy they expect him to be. But at the same time, many also forget how he was out for a season and then had to deal with several back injuries, which limited him on the court.
But the Australian guard is locked in this summer trying to get better and retain his older self to shut down all his doubters and haters. He may pull a successful comeback, but the jersey he’ll don while doing that stays a mystery.
