“I’m the GREATEST Russell of all time” Bill Russell hilariously shut Westbrook in funniest commercial
Bill Russell and Russell Westbrook
Bill Russell the greatest winner that sports has ever known unfortunately died at the age of 88 on Sunday. It really is a big loss for the world of sports and especially the basketball community as we lost a legend of the game. But Bill Russell will live forever just like his hard to match legacy. He has 11 NBA titles (Celtics Legend and HOF) registered under his name and had a winning streak for 8 straight seasons. He also holds the NBA Finals records for championships, appearances, games played, rebounds and minutes. He also has two NCAA Titles, an Olympic Gold Medal and multiple individual honors like he’s a member of NBA’s Greatest Ever 25th, 50th and 75th Anniversary teams and the list isn’t just limited to the above mentioned things. He was also honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his off-court greats as he really was a voice who stood up and fought for equality and social justice for decades.
But not many know that Bill Russell was also a funny guy who had a great sense of humor and the ability to have a whole room cracking on his jokes. Foot Locker though surely knew about it as they featured him and Russell Westbrook in a commercial to promote their brand and a great sneaker. Where Bill Russell hilariously manhandled Russell Westbrook as he claimed himself to be the best and greatest Russell in League’s history. That can be a great topic to debate but we all know how and where it ends favoring the Celtics’ legend. The commercial was out in 2017 and was viral all over the internet in just some minutes. As Brodie and Mr. 11 Rings have always been the names to make headlines and now the video is resurfacing and going viral again.
Bill Russell shuts down Russell Westbrook in a hilarious Foot Locker commercial
Russell Westbrook and Bill Russell in the Foot Locker commercial were promoting Jordan 31 and while doing that Brodie gave some of his not that famous stats. As a fan of his focused on him getting all the triple-doubles. Doing that Brodie quoted: “For me, it’s all about getting wins. But if you want to focus on the stats, you should know I crash into 1.7 cameramen per night. And I’ve created two times more parental neglect than any other player. And I lead the league in minutes talking to myself intensely. And my highlights kept Vine alive for an additional 7.4 months. And I’m appearing in 72 percent of opposing coaches’ nightmares.”
But it didn’t end there as Russell Westbrook also said: “Plus, I’m the all-time greatest Russell in league history.” This claim made things rough as boom it was Bill Russell on the screen and challenging the claim just gave away two words of his as he questioned: “Oh Really?” and Brodie was caught so making things right he said: “Ok, Second-greatest Russell in league history.” That was a very honest commercial as it sparked some truth about both the greats of the game and there’s no doubt to the fact that Bill Russell is the greatest Russell in league’s history and is also a part of the G.O.A.T conversation. As he probably was the first guy to achieve that tag.
