“Jaylen and Jayson are easy to talk to” Blake Griffin fires shots at Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving after a 2-year failed stint

Boston Celtics’ latest recruit Blake Griffin made his pre-season debut recently. In a recent interview with Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports, Griffin talked highly about his new NBA team and the teammates and put light on his former team, the Brooklyn Nets. Griffin is looking for a promising role, and it seems he will get one with the Celtics.
Blake Griffin talked highly of his Celtics teammates, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. He said, “It was a huge part of it. Obviously, this organization from top to bottom is special in that they hold people to championship expectations. Some people can shy away from that. These guys have embraced it, they’re part of it. So that was a draw but also guys on the team being great guys, and since I got here, the guys that I didn’t really know that well, I’ve gotten to know really well.”
Blake added, “When you do it for 14 years, it’s easier to come into a situation and sort of feel comfortable. I guess the older you get, just the more comfortable you are with yourself.” It seems Blake was talking about the Brooklyn Nets duo of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant for not being a guiding light for him. Blake Griffin averaged 17.1 minutes per game the last season in 56 games he played for the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds.
Blake Griffin gave out the reason for choosing to wear no. 91 with the Boston Celtics
It is one of the most critical decisions in an athlete’s life when choosing what number he would like to go on the court. Boston Celtics player Blake Griffin was caught in a similar fix. Griffin said, “I was just sitting with some of my friends and we were looking at the numbers. And the first available number was like 27 or something like that. … Then it jumped a bunch and it went from like 49 to like 90-whatever. And then I was trying to think of a number that had never been worn before…”.
Blake is a great admirer of former Chicago Bulls player Dennis Rodman, and hence one of his friends suggested jersey No. 91 as a homage to the former Hall of Famer who wore that number on the Bulls teams of the late 1990s. Griffin will become the first Celtics player and the fifth in NBA history to wear the unique number. Blake added, “I just liked the Rodman 91 jersey. I always thought that looked sick. … I was thinking about it and I was like, ‘Oh yeah. That’s the one.”
