Russian officers enjoying Brittney Griner’s wife causing ‘Earthquakes’ on television

WNBA star Brittney Griner has faced never-ending problems ever since her arrest for carrying illegal substances through a Russian airport. Her wife, Cherelle, has been running helter-skelter to have the women’s basketball legend saved from the claws of the Russian authorities. However, Cherelle has received nothing but negative comments and disappointment until now.
Even after having nothing in hand, Brittney’s wife hasn’t turned back. She constantly tries to find solutions to get Brittney back to the United States. Jonathan Franks, a spokesperson of the ‘Bring Our Families Home’ campaign, said: “This is trolling of the first order and operationalized trolling on the part of a state actor. Every time Cherelle goes on TV, there’s sort of an earthquake, and everybody covers it because she’s a powerful advocate for her wife. And then people are asking the White House questions about it at the briefing, and they’re struggling to answer them.”
He added: “I’m sure that that is quite enjoyable for [Russians] to watch chaos ensue and feel like they can provoke it at any time by sending Brittney to court or by adversely affecting her prison conditions.” Franks also stated that there might be something fishy regarding Russia’s role in this incident. Both countries have been on the opposite end of these negotiations. There are chances that Russia would approach the White House with an offer for a prisoner swap to return Brittney Griner back home. However, the chances of it happening are very slim.

Brittney Griner calls prison time a traumatic experience
The Phoenix Mercury star appeared during her appeal hearing where she admitted her act of carrying the marijuana and pleaded guilty. Griner also revealed that she had no intentions of bringing it along with her. The highlight was of her talking about the trauma she had to face while she waited for the day to arrive when she could beg for her freedom.
She pointed out that she has been in prison for around eight months and that people with more severe crimes have lesser sentencing than her. Even after much efforts, the Russian court added to Brittney’s misery and upheld her decision to serve in jail for nine years. This decision was called ‘unacceptable’ by US President Joe Biden. There are reports about preparations being made to send Brittney to a penal colony, which is a living hell for humans to survive in.
