“Bro has to complete side missions just to play basketball lmfao” Brooklyn Nets issue 6 conditions for Kyrie Irving to return to the team, Twitter reacts
Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving is all over the NBA headlines since he promoted antisemitism by sharing a link to an antisemitic film via his social media handles. Right now, the All-Star point guard is the biggest controversial player in the league. Kyrie Irving has been facing a lot of criticism as his off-court antics have hurt many people around the globe, especially the Jewish Community. Now the suspended star will have to get certain things done rightfully if he wants to hoop for the Nets again.
Kyrie shared a link to an antisemitic film: “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.” This offended the Jewish Community and several other communities and organizations around the world. As that was hurting and now many around hate the Nets’ star for his unnecessary off-court antics.
Unfortunately, Kyrie Irving even defended his stand. And, didn’t send out an apology until the Brooklyn Nets decided to suspend him for at least five games. If he would have apologized on the various opportunities given to him earlier, things would have been very different. But now it’s a done deal and Kyrie stands suspended. He has also lost his long-time deal with Nike.
Kyrie after the suspension sent out a heartfelt apology to the Jewish Community and everyone who was hurt. He has also taken full accountability for his actions but none of that matters now. As many are parting ways with him and giving up on him during the struggling and messed-up situation he’s stuck in.
The Brooklyn Nets have already played two games since his suspension. And, unexpectedly they have won both of them as KD has taken over and is out for nothing but business. In order for Kyrie Irving to join him and continue to play, the Brooklyn Nets have issued 6 requirements.
6 requirements by Brooklyn Nets for Kyrie Irving to be back with the team
As reported by Shams Charania, the Nets have delivered Irving six items he’ll have to complete in order to return to the team. Honestly, all the conditions set by the Brooklyn Nets are fair and understandable. As they’ll help the talented guard to stay on the right track. You can find the six conditions mentioned here below:
– Apologize/condemn movie
– $500K donation to anti-hate causes
– Sensitivity training
– Antisemitic training
– Meet with ADL, Jewish leaders
– Meet with Joe Tsai to demonstrate understanding
Is Kyrie Irving taking steps in the right direction?
Kyrie Irving is a smart man. He has his own opinions, perspectives and views on different things. But he also has to know and understand anything which is hurting and offending a lot of people can’t be classified as right. Also, he has to understand his responsibilities on a serious note. As the Nets pay him millions to hoop for the team and not for the unnecessary off-court stuff he’s doing for years now. But again he’s free to do all of that but he has to know his limits and stop offending and hurting others.
As of now, Kyrie Irving is taking steps in the right direction. As he has already done two out of the six requirements the team wants him to do to be back and show off his unreal skills. He has already sent out an apology and the Nets have confirmed in a statement that he’ll be donating $500k to an organization for anti-hate causes. And, as the requirements say he’ll also have to meet with ADL and Jewish Leaders. Also, he’ll have to get sensitivity and antisemitic training and have a meeting with Joe Tsai. So the steps are really in the right direction and a change can be seen in the near future.
But like always the controversial star, Kyrie Irving has divided the internet. As fans are either on his side and criticizing the league or are riding with the requirements he’ll have to do to return. Find some of the many reactions posted by fans on social media platforms here below:
