Zach LaVine and Billy Donovan
Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine conveyed that things are good between him and the Bulls’ head coach Billy Donovan. Billy benched LaVine in the last few minutes of the game and the player was not at all happy with that. But they did mend things out at the following practice session.
LaVine cleared the air when he talked to the media after the practice session. He said, “I just told him I feel like I’ve earned the right to go out there and try to play through a bad game. His decision was to try to do the best thing for the team, which I respect. If we won, obviously, I would’ve been ecstatic. We lost, I wasn’t. I had a terrible game.” He added, “But it’s one game, man. I don’t want to get this blown out of proportion to the point we’re talking about a loss, where we’ve had multiple losses this year.”
In contrast, Billy Donovan said, “I totally get his competitiveness and his wanting to win and be out there. He should. I think all great players want to be able to do that. I felt in that moment in time it was best for the team. And I think he knows that I’ll always try to put the team first and do what’s best for the team.”

After the news that head coach Billy Donovan and star player Zach LaVine are on the same page came out, the Bulls fans did breathe a sigh of relief. Zach was not happy that he was made to sit out of the game against the Orlando Magic, which they lost by just one point.
LaVine cleared the air by stating that he and Billy share a good relationship and always talk. He added that Billy understands there will be uncomfortable days and like every other sport, there will be some decisions with which someone might not agree.
The two then combined and took their team to consecutive wins. The Bulls defeated Boston Celtics 121-107 and the Milwaukee Bucks 118-113. The Bulls have a strong roster and should make sure that these petty issues shouldn’t derail their campaign and take away their ultimate goal of winning the NBA championship.
