Antetokounmpo also stated that he will select Jrue Holiday, who is also on the Bucks’ squad, as his first selection in order to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers star. Both players have been voted as captains for Eastern and Western Conferences, ahead of the 2022-23 All-Star Games on Feb 9.

Hopefully, I can have seven more, but you never know,” said the Bucks superstar. Giannis has become one of the most dominant forces in the league in the last few years. Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. LeBron James in All-Star Games
Both Antetokounmpo, 28, and LeBron James, 38, will serve as captains for the All-Star game this year. Since the league switched to the “captains select” format in 2018, there has been a matchup between Team Antetokounmpo and Team James a total of three times. Unfortunately, the 2 x league MVP, has lost all the All-Star matchups between them.
With 19 All-Star Game appearances, James tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most in NBA history. The star player for the Lakers has now served as a captain in each of the six seasons that the NBA has used the format that is used for the current All-Star game. Giannis overtook the fan vote leader in the third fan vote returns for Eastern Conference. On the other hand, James has led the voting since the first return. James has averaged 33.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.6 assists in his 15 games of the season.
