The matchup between the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics yesterday was a routine matchup. The game between the best and the worst teams in the NBA was a regular showdown.

During the game, a Boston Celtics commentator threw a wild comment on Jordan Poole‘s way after a foul call on Jrue Holiday. The clipping of that troll has since gone viral.

The Boston Celtics were up by almost 30 points with 7 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. While going one-on-one with Jordan Poole, Jrue Holiday used his right hand to move the Washington Wizards guard’s hand away from him. In this process, Holiday’s right hand hits Poole in the face leading to a whistle.

The Celtics commentator said

This troll was a reminder of the time when Poole was punched in the face by former teammate Draymond Green. The commentator’s colleague burst out laughing after hearing this.

Jrue Holiday is bigger and stronger than Poole, pointing towards an easy showdown. However, Poole did show some fight by keeping his arms on Holiday and using his strength to try and slow down the former All-Star. Holiday had to use his left arm to break Poole’s defensive stance to make it easier to finish the layup. But his hand hitting Poole’s face drew an offensive foul.

Even though it went against the Celtics, what mattered most in the end was the wild comment from the commentator. The punch he referred to resulted in Jordan Poole’s exit from the Golden State Warriors. It seems no one will forget that situation.

Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards are sinking to the bottom

The Washington Wizards traded for Jordan Poole with a view of him being one of their star players. Poole’s play so far has not helped that case.

The inability to take over as their superstar and an overall lack of fight has seen the Wizards slide down the table. As of now, they have the worst record in the NBA. A stark contrast to how they expected their season to play out.

Poole signed a massive 4-year $128 million contract with the Warriors before being traded to the Wizards. A player who averages 16.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game does not get such a contract. Add to that, he has often been a part of comical plays, which have led to everyone trolling him.

With this incident, it seems Jordan Poole will never escape trolls. After all, the memory of his bust-up with Draymond Green is still fresh in the minds of everyone. If he could play at an elite level, this trolling could die down.
