There is no doubt that without Charles “Chuck” Barkley on set, there is always something missing. Whether it is his witty jokes aimed at Shaquille O’Neal or his attempt to pronounce various superstars’ names.
Either way, his presence on the show has made the game of the NBA so much more interesting. And it was felt yet again. While with the NBA on TNT crew, Charles Barkley made a bold yet hilarious claim about his obsession with diet cokes. He also admitted to the crew that it’s his 2023 resolution to break free from his love for Diet Coke
You know I drink about 10 to 15 Diet Cokes a day. I want to give up Diet Coke. I think it’s best for me to go cold turkey. That is my serious resolution to give up Diet Coke.Charles Barkley said.
This stuff don’t even taste like anything. After a few sips of water, Barkley added.
And while every diet plan starts from somewhere, for Chuck it may be from the show itself. But like all old lovers, good memories will still haunt him.
Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal may go down as the most iconic duo in sports broadcasting history
The pair of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles “Chuck” Barkley has been nothing short of entertainment, taking the NBA analysis world to a whole different level. As for fans like us, it is just a blessing to have seen these icons both on and off the court. But it all started with a tragedy on Chuck’s side.
What could have been a fairy tale ending for Charles Barkley was a night to forget as in his 16th season, he tore his quad marking the end of his career as an NBA player. But it was also a blessing in disguise as he joined Turner Sports to star alongside Ernie Johnson and Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith on ‘Inside the NBA,’ that very year.
Shaq had a similar story as he was also forced into retirement after having suffered a career-ending Achille injury with the Boston Celtics in 2011. Later, he also joined the ‘Inside the NBA’ which gave birth to the famous TV duo.
And sure both have provided us with countless memories since then. With their witty jokes aimed at each other to “bromance” moments, the NBA wouldn’t be the same without them. It’s a sight to behold seeing both of them give their stance after games with a bit of humor in the mix. Fans will hope that their appearances go on for a long time, yet.
