Charles Barkley had an interesting take on Luka Doncic regarding his improving gameplay. Everyone had their views and point to add to Barkley’s comment which included reminding that even he was an amazing player which no one has any doubts about. As we all know how things go over the talk show NBA on TNT this for sure was a bold take by Charles with Shaquille O’Neal present there.
Luka Doncic often referred to as Luka Magic surely has been showing his capabilities all season or if we go according to Charles Barkley, “I was a hell of a player I don’t think I have ever averaged 44 points in a six-span.” Charles continued, “He is the MVP right now,” to highlight the amount of quality game Luka is showing these days making him a contender with Jason Tatum. Luka is dominating the game with Dallas Mavericks which is slowly putting him closer and closer to the level that he needs to be for playing in the championships.
Charles compares by saying even though he was an amazing player with a similar work ethic but even he wasn’t able to average that number of points with the consistency that Luka Doncic maintains. Furthermore, Shaq comments on how Dallas Mavericks can be easily a tough team to beat which other teams will be struggling against if Luka gets one or two players to get on the same level where he is and pass the ball like he is doing with the swift movements he is obtaining these games.
“To be a great player you have to learn to play without the ball,” Charles subtly commented on how Luka Doncic should start giving more focus on passing the ball to his team. The European sure knows how to get the bucket if he has the ball for him but to make it to the finals and get the ring a player should know how to pass the ball. He just needs to work on his team more as Charles hints.
Shaquille O’Neal take on the possible MVPs this season
Shaq goes on to talk about the possible players who can win the MVP season, highlighting Luka, Tatum and Giannis. He addressed them as the most versatile players in the season who are giving their best this season. The close call is tilted toward picking Luka Doncic considering the way he is scoring in the recent games.
But on the other hand, he points out that Jayson Tatum after last season suffering the major loss has improved this year and is showing everyone what he is capable of. The league has several players on the rise battling it out for the top spot among players. This could pose a great challenge for Doncic as well.
