“They flew in private jets, I took commercial flights” Charles Barkley believes millennial NBA players have been spoiled exceedingly
Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley is one of the many veteran NBA players who have evidently come out to criticize the pay-differential in the league at their back time and now. Moreover, the 1993 Phoenix Suns MVP went onto suggest how the millennial NBA players have been spoiled with outrageous amount of money sent their way and it is no wonder that these ‘kids’ go beyond all expectations to live the King-Size life.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert in 2017, Charles Barkley went onto regard modern-day NBA players as spoiled rotten. Interestingly, despite Barkley not being on any social media platform, his unorthodox opinions and unfiltered comments have generated millions of views. It is indeed safe to say that the former Suns player has taken the game of broadcasting to a whole new level.
Charles Barkley gets brutally honest on millennial NBA players
“First of all, they gave themselves a nickname, they call themselves millennials, you can’t give yourself a nickname, I hate that,” said Barkley. “First of all, they should just say rich spoiled brats. This generation man, we give all these kids everything, they don’t appreciate anything, they want all the new phones, they want everything.”
“It was definitely a tougher game, it was more physical, these guys are very talented but they made it easier on them. They take rest periods now; guys miss games because they just wanna rest. They fly private jets when I played, we flew commercial. God bless these younger players but they’re spoiled rotten.”
Believe it or not, these absurd NBA contracts and deals have really hyped majority of players. Some are able to live up to their hype while the others just cannot handle the expectations loaded upon them with huge money. However, Charles Barkley has raised a good point. Calling these modern-day NBA players, a ‘spoiled rotten’ seems like just going out of the line, yet that only goes out to signify how ruthless and unfiltered this Hall of Famer is.
