In the world where everything uttered on TV is being summoned by millions around the globe, it is safe to say that Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has absolutely no regard of anyone. The former Philadelphia 76ers marquee is one of the most loved sports media personalities and is known to have verbal banters with San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors fans’ and particularly their women. 

That being said, NBA on TNT is on the very top because of Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal. The duo has been constant in mocking one another and bickering at each other’s opinions. Safe to say, despite the Chuckster entering Hall of Fame, he still doesn’t know the right time to close his mouth. One of the incidents to justify this was his comments of San Antonio women, which gathered a lot of heat.

“There’s some big ‘ol women down there,” said Charles Barkley. “That’s a gold mine for Weight Watchers. Victoria is definitely a secret…. they can’t wear no Victoria’s Secret down there.” 

he Chuckster carried on, and was then shown a report where a reporter goes and talks to San Antonio women about his comments. 

Various women had various responses. Some of them were, 

  1. “Charles Barkley, the guy who doesn’t know how to swing a golf club?” 
  1. “Who? The man who they call the round mound of rebound?” 
  1. “Charles Barkley is making fun of San Antonio? Isn’t he from Alabama?” 
  1. “Did he ever have hair, or was he always bald?”

Charles Barkley did not respond kindly to these comments. He argued that the reporter took all day to find 5 beautiful women in San Antonio. Then elaborating on his bias, he said, “All they do is wear bloomers and eat churros down there!”

That being said, the Chuckster was told to apologize for his comments. But the Spurs’ fan base and in particular women will never forget such an insult. This could be the primary reason why Barkley is hated to such an extent amongst Spurs fans. But this only goes to show that Barkley has never shied away from speaking his heart out. However it’ll be better if he had a filter to his words, at least at times.
