The NBA occasionally takes its events outside of the country. Mexico is usually where their have their international games and several teams gain the opportunity to meet their fans from other nations. On December 12, 2019 the Dallas Mavericks met the Detroit Pistons and dominated them in Mexico.
This triggered Charles Barkley to say, “I talked to a couple of my friends in Detroit, they were saying please hurry up and get that wall so they can’t come back. Get that wall up so they don’t come back.” This left his co-hosts in uncontrollable laughter. These jokes were directed towards the time former President Donald Trump tried to build a wall in the Mexican-American boarder.
