This wager by Barkley on the Patriots was mindblowing. The St. Louis Rams were the highest-scoring offense in league history earning them the nickname, ‘The Greatest Show on Turf’. They were already Super Bowl winners a couple of seasons ago and were favored to win this one too.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady on the other hand, was an unknown quantity. Playing in only his second season and first as a starter, he did not have the playoff experience the Rams had. So for Barkley to place his wager on the unknown and that too against the former champions was bold. But Brady and the Patriots won.
