“If you’re gay or transgender…love you!” Charles Barkley says “F*CK YOU” to all those who stand against LGBTQA+ community
Charles Barkley is widely known as one of the greatest NBA players to have never won a title. Besides that one awful feature, he has had a very successful career in basketball. He was a very gifted two way players at his position and that earned him multiple All- NBA and All-Star selections.
He became the leader of the Phoenix Suns after joining them in 1992. He averaged 25.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game leading them to the Western Conference Finals. But that’s as far as his playoff runs lasted. Chuck won the league’s Most Valuable Player award over the likings of Michael Jordan and the GOAT took it personally. There are several reasons to insult him but all the more reasons to show him praise.
Charles Barkley defends the LGBTQA+ Community with a big F-You
Charles Barkley has been very open about his views and opinions on society and the changes it has faced over the years. He has been advocating for the LGBTQA+ community ever since the latter part of his career. There have been several instances where Chuck has also shown support in various and some rumors claim that he also might be swinging on the other side as well.
A video surfaced the internet where the former Philadelphia 76ers forward stood up from his seat and slammed people who hated against the community. He said, “I wanna say this. If you’re gay and transgender, I love you. And if anybody gives you s**t, you tell ’em Charles said, “F**k you!” The crowd around him began to roar loud cheering him on.
Charles Barkley claims that several NBA players were gay
It comes to no surprise when the NBA Hall of Famer addressed having to play with members of the community. “First of all, every player has played with gay guys. It bothers me when I hear these reporters and jocks get on TV and say, ‘Oh, no guy can come out in a team sport. These guys would go crazy.’ First of all, quit telling me what I think. I’d rather have a gay guy who can play than a straight guy who can’t play,” he said.
A few years ago, the government had a passed a bill known as the “Bathroom Bill” that banned transgenders and individuals of different sexual orientation from using public toilets. Barkley claimed that he was disgusted by the idea of denying access to public restroom usage on basis of sexual preference. He has always shown his support for same-sex marriages as well. He has been a strong ally for the community and the fun loving personality seems to have a strong hold of his beliefs as well.
