The Match, a celebrity golf tournament featuring stars from the NFL and NBA, was more than just a display of athletic talent. It was also a stage for some epic trash talk, especially from Charles Barkley, who used the opportunity to take another dig at his longtime nemesis, Skip Bayless.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce joined the celebrity golf tournament last week to face off against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. They also chatted with Barkley. Barkley brought up Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, who recently parted ways with FS1’s Undisputed.

Barkley also threw some shade at Sharpe’s former co-host, Skip Bayless. “I want one of those jobs where I can get fired [and] get a buyout for working with an idiot,” Barkley said.

This was not the first time Barkley made such a remark. He also said something similar on his NBA show with TNT. “I read an article today . . . that if you work with a damn idiot, they’ll buy you out,” Barkley said. “So I just want you all to know, I’m open to the buyout.”

Bayless did not react the first time, but he did not let the second one slide. He fired back on Twitter, “Still chuckling over a clown calling me an idiot,” Bayless tweeted.

As Mahomes and Kelce take home the win, it gave Charles Barkley another shot at dissing Bayless

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson tried to rally, but they could not overcome the gap. They finally won their first hole at No. 9, but it was not enough. Mahomes and Kelce clinched the victory at No. 16, where they made a birdie to go 3-up with two holes left.
