“I was broke after 4 years in NBA…” Charles Barkley vows to beat ex-agent ‘to a pulp’ for stealing his money
Charles Barkley fired a rather ominous warning at the former agent.
Charles Barkley
Charles Barkley, appearing alongside veteran host Dan Patrick on the ‘Dan Patrick Show, talked about the impact of college basketball and Caitlin Clark. When he informed the host he had never seen the Iowa Hawkeyes star play live, it led to a series of conversations that ended with Chuck bringing up and threatening to beat up his former agent who stole from him.
Dan Patrick was shocked by Chuck’s revelation that he hadn’t seen Caitlin Clark in a live game. He then suggested that Barkley “fuel up the jet” to see her take part in the Final Four Tournament, to which he responded by saying he has no intentions of going broke again and then revealed that he was broke as an active NBA player as his agent at the time Lance Lesnick stole from him.
His name was Lance Lesnick. He stole all my damn money, and let me tell you something, Dan, if I ever see him again, I am going to beat him to a pulp.Charles Barkley said
Barkley added that all could have been smoothened out had he apologized. And his apparent failure to do that has led to his long-held grudge against his former agent.
Furthermore, it’s not the first time Chuck has called out his former agent, as he did during an appearance on the same Dan Patrick show. Luckily for Chuck, he had let go of the agent early on as he made more money after he left the Philadelphia 76ers.
Charles Barkley on gambling controversies in the NBA
Charles Barkley, still in conversation with Dan Patrick, took a stance on the issue of betting within the sports. This resulted from reports that involved Jontay Porter being accused of betting.
Chuck’s proposal involved getting banned for life if found guilty of taking part in betting as a player or a team member. The issue also affects players, as Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton said a while ago when he suffered at the hands of betting companies.
Under no circumstance, as a player, should you talk about your friend about gambling, shave points, good or bad, prop bets, you could never entertain influencing the outcome of a game. Guys, don’t ever do that; you gonna get banned for life if you gonna do that.Charles Barkley added
Furthermore, the league’s authorities must stand their ground before the adverse effects of betting ruin the integrity of the sports. The same goes for athletes and legends to also refrain from engaging in activities that would encourage others to join.
