Draymond Green‘s fight with Golden State Warriors teammate Jordan Poole has elicited several comments from the basketball community. Chris Broussard, an NBA commentator, was the most recent to weigh in. Broussard told First Things First that he first anticipated Green to be suspended. After expressing his dissatisfaction with the penalty, he stated: “Part of why this is going to work is Jordan Poole’s personality. Someone told me this is not going to be as bad as the Kevin Durant situation. Now, it was worse what he did to Poole, but Durant’s personality was.”

Durant was a higher stature on the team than Poole, but Durant’s personality would not let it go as quickly as a Jordan Poole.” Broussard continued: “I do not think Draymond Green will get traded. The Warriors understand his importance. His playmaking ability, his defense, and the fact that they can go small with him at the center. He’s not nearly as valuable elsewhere. For him to be valuable offensively, you need a point guard that’s willing to move off the ball like Steph.”

Many people anticipated Draymond Green to be punished after hitting teammate Jordan Poole during practise. While the NBA cannot punish players for events at practise, the Golden State Warriors were expected to suspend Green. While he was fined, many people were shocked that Green was not suspended. After winning the NBA Championship in 2021-2022, the Warriors will begin their season with a ring ceremony. Green’s presence at the event, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, may have played a part in his lack of punishment.
