In the most recent episode also, Chris Broussard covered a wide range of topics, including upcoming youngster Chet Holmgren. The former seems to have an issue with his comments over “best player in NBA” and labeled it as “arrogance” rather than “confidence”.

Chet Holmgren is considered to be the top pick of the 2022 NBA draft. When he was asked about his views about the “Best player in NBA”, he took a bit of time and said, “Me, in two months”. The statement didn’t go well with NBA fans and Chris criticized the youngster for being nothing but arrogant.

In an interview, when Chet was asked about his views on the “Best Player in the NBA” – he replied “Me, in 2 months” exerting some confidence at such young age. Holmgren averaged 20.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.7 blocks, and 4.4 assists while connecting on 68.2 percent of his field-goal attempts. A McDonald’s All-American Game selection, Holmgren is the 2021 Naismith High School Trophy Player of the Year.

Though the resume is very exciting and he may become a great player in the league, his early statement attracted a lot of criticism. Chris said“I like Chet, I do. But I didn’t like this (clip playing). To me that came off as arrogance and disrespect more so than self-assuredness and confidence I mean show the guys in the NBA, the job Morant’s, The Luka’s, the Giannis; show them some respect.”

He added, “You can be confident but my goodness, this reminds me sadly of one Adam Morrison also a Gonzaga player (like Chet) in the past who was a third pick, Michael Jordan (for Charlotte team) took him and he said in a commercial for EA sports I believe that there’s going to be a lot of people crying when I get to the NBA.”

It was a massive statement for young players to challenge the veterans and established players in the league. But sadly for Michael Jordan and mainly for Morrison – whose career was short-lived. Similarly, Chet made a very strong statement and claimed the “2 months” period is very absurd to be the best in the sport.
