Golden State Warriors have seen their golden days in the league, and all thanks to the trio of superstars – Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Chris Mullin even labelled them as the greatest Trio of the NBA History.
Golden State Warriors is one team, which showed consistency in their plays and wins. Team have been playing at the highest level and maintaining their position for nearly a decade. This is only possible due to the superstar trio of the team – Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Steph is the Greatest shooter in the league, Klay is great at both ends of the floor, while Draymond possess high game IQ and court vision. This combination is very lethal for the Dubs.
While talking about the trio, Chris Mullin said that due to the longevity shown by the Warriors’ trio, they can be ranked above some of the famous trios in the past – Bulls Trio in Michael Jordan era or Celtics trio in Larry Bird Era.

Stephen Curry started his career with the Warriors in 2009, while Klay joined him in 2011 and later that season Draymond Green was added as 35th overall pick by the Warriors. All players were selected in the draft and surprisingly no one was in top 5 picks for their respective seasons. But when Green was added by the Warriors in 2012, Curry already had some NBA experience and was developed as elite shooter. Klay Thompson was also getting in the groove with the team.
It is astonishing that Warriors never missed a playoff spot after adding Draymond in the mix with just 1 season’s exception due to Thompson’s injury. They were rather 5 time Conference champions and Won 3 NBA Titles in the process. Also they posted record 76% win rate in their first 450+ games which is highest by any team in the history.
Team also had recorded a dominant 73-9 season in 2016. They all three played an All star game together, very rare occarance in NBA History to have 3 draft picks playing in all star game from the same team. Addition of Kevin Durant in the mix gave them extra fire power and they went on to add more titles in their cabinet, but his departure hardly affected the team’s performance as their Core -trio was maintained by the front office. They maintained their culture and unselfish playing style.
Bright Future ahead for the Warriors
Now even in the “past-prime” years, Green, Curry, and Thomson are nurturing the young guys like a Mentor. Jordan Poole is looking set for the primary shooter position while Andrew Wiggins also has given them some stability on both ends of the floor. Jonathan Kaminga and Gary Payton Jr. are also showing great understanding of the game as learning to adapt to the situation.
This gives The Warriors team a bright future, and chance to impose their dominance over the league. It also gives some breathers and allow Steph, Klay and Green to play for more seasons.
