Chris Paul‘s ability to get into the minds of his opponents by making snarky comments and getting under their skin is well-known. This tactic not only angers them but also leads them to commit mistakes. NBA veteran and former All-Star Jeff Teague described one incident of Chris Paul’s trash-talking prowess.

Teague recently talked about his encounter with CP3 on the Club 520 podcast. He shared that it happened during his time with the Indiana Pacers and how he really wanted to fight Paul due to his trash-talking.

“It’s the first time he ever talked s**t to me and the first time I really wanted to fight him,” Teague said. “Before the game, he [Chris Paul] like ‘JT what’s up baby?’ All political and s**t. I’m like ‘What’s going on? … I might need a pair of them CPs right there.’ Just trying to keep the conversation going. He was like ‘Okay. Yeah, yeah.'”

Teague continued and added, “He do a lot of flopping. So he was trying to give me two fouls, i’m like ‘Quit flopping n***a. Play. You scared to guard?’ This n***a walked to the end of our bench where Paul George was sitting was like ‘P! This n***a right here talking s**t like he ain’t ask me for some shoes before the game?’ … I wanted to run into this n***a so bad.”

Now that Paul has signed with Golden State Warriors this season, his antics might get even more intense as he teams up with Draymond Green, known as one of the best trash-talkers in the game. Seeing them trash-talk their opponents would be highly entertaining since we rarely get to witness two top trash-talkers on the same team.

After being traded to the Golden State Warriors, Chris Paul made it clear that he aims to win a championship with the Warriors and issued a warning to the league.

In a recent interview after signing with the Warriors, Paul expressed sympathy for other teams, stating that he feels sorry they have to face both him and his new team at the same time. “Draymond is uhh… I feel sorry for the other teams that got to play against both of us because he’s always been very vocal, as I am.”

Though Paul is not at the peak of his prime, he still brings valuable veteran leadership and contributes significantly to a team. He achieved All-NBA appearances in 2 out of his three seasons with the Phoenix Suns. The Warriors expect CP to deliver a similar level of performance to help them secure their 5th Championship in nine years and to earn Paul’s first-ever championship.
