The Golden State Warriors have kicked off their campaign with a win. In their pre-season game against the Los Angeles Lakers, they secured a dominant 125-108 victory over the Kings of LA. Chris Paul made his debut in a Warriors jersey and played a pivotal role in their first-ever game together.

Paul, who is a polarizing figure among Dubs fans, especially due to the fact that the Warriors have faced the teams Paul has been a part of in multiple playoff series. Paul has also had a rivalry with Dubs superstar Stephen Curry throughout his career, particularly after 2014 when Curry overtook Paul to become the best point guard in the league.

Before joining the Warriors, whenever Paul entered the Dubs’ home turf, he was heavily booed. Things changed for him when he joined the Dubs and played for them in their pre-season game. Paul reflected on the change in behavior from the Warriors fans towards him, saying, “It’s nice to hear cheers from Golden State fans for a change.”

Chris Paul helps Warriors to victory over Lakers

Chris Paul made his debut for the Dubs in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers and helped the team to secure a victory against their rivals. The Dubs won the game 125-108 with Jonathan Kuminga scoring team high 24 points, and CP3 ended with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in just 13 minutes on the court with a box score of +6.

This showing by the Warriors brings hope to the fans, while a pre-season game is not the hardest fought games, as many superstars play limited minutes during the game.
