Klay Thompson has had a tough time recently with the Golden state Warriors for varied reasons.

The Golden State Warriors benched Klay Thompson against the Brooklyn Nets in the closing minutes of the game, which is making his already dire circumstance worse. He was disappointed with the choice and voiced his displeasure to the press throughout the exchange. However, the response was different from Klay’s when the Warriors faced the Phoenix Suns.
On December 12, 2023, the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns played a game that ended in a 116-119 loss for the Warriors. Recently, a video of Thompson violently kicking the chair and yelling, “God damn,” repeatedly during the Suns game became viral online. Stephen Curry right away tried to calm him down, but he wasn’t listening. Then, he is seen making gestures to communicate with a member of the coaching staff while raising his hands in disgust as though making a pointless attempt to convey it.
Before the visitors lost this game, Draymond Green notoriously was sent off for a flagrant two-point foul on the hosts’ Jusuf Nurkic. This was one of the main reasons why it was challenging to understand the guard’s reaction, given the game’s overall unpredictability.
Upon closer examination of the December Warriors vs. Suns game, it was evident that Klay Thompson’s box score was well below average. Despite starting the game, he did not participate in the final quarter of the play.
Klay Thompson disappointed after getting benched in the game against the Nets
Thompson was once more taken out in the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ 109-98 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, February 5, to move to 2-1 on their road trip. During his thirty minutes of play, he battled and finished the game early, with eight points. But Klay Thompson didn’t allow getting benched to negatively impact his smile. However, it was clear from his remarks that he was extremely frustrated.
Klay Thompson said via Press conference when he was asked how he was feeling after getting benched. He said,
Are you kidding me? To go from one of the best players. It's hard for anybody. I'll be honest with you, it's very hard.
This week’s, Monday wasn’t the first time he missed a game to end it. Last week in Memphis, the game was headed toward an easy victory when he was benched in favor of Podziemski.
Now, halfway through the year, Steve Kerr finds himself sitting 22–25 and eliminated from the play-in event. That has caused Thompson in particular to have some difficult times. His shoots have been coming up short lately, and it seems like the season’s wear and stress on his two surgically restored legs is getting to him.
