During the LA Clippers game against the Denver Nuggets, former American professional basketball player and current basketball analyst, Jim Arthur Jackson had an on-air slip-up. He mistakenly used the N-word while referring to the Nuggets but promptly corrected himself.
Once a 4th overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft for the Dallas Mavericks, Jackson held the record for playing on the most teams during his 14 seasons in the NBA, representing 12 different teams. This record was later surpassed by Ish Smith.

In the NBA regular season, with 885 games played and 649 starts, Jackson, a shooting guard, maintained averages of 14.3 points, 3.2 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game. Concluding his career with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2005-2006 season after participating in just 13 games, he notably became the last player on the Lakers to wear #24 before the late Kobe Bryant.
Experiencing his peak performance in the 1994-95 season with the Mavericks, Jackson showcased remarkable stats, averaging 25.7 points and 5.1 rebounds, securing the 5th position in the NBA in scoring. Transitioning to a new role, he joined the Clippers as an announcer in 2020. Beyond that, he serves as an analyst for both Fox Sports and Turner Sports.
Jim Jackson’s slip-up causes fan frenzy
During the LA Clippers game against the Denver Nuggets, a match that ended with the Nuggets winning 104-113, a significant social media frenzy ensued. Working as an announcer for Bally Sports, Jackson caused a stir by mistakenly using the ‘N’ word while referring to the Nuggets. This incident unfolded as the Nuggets held a 10-point lead with just 30 seconds remaining in the game.

Swiftly correcting himself, Jackson seamlessly continued with his analysis without any disruption.
Whenever the Clippers made a run, this n—-s...This Nuggets team found a way.
The incident sparked a reaction on X (formerly known as Twitter), with users sharing their responses and opinions on the on-air slip-up.
As of now, neither Jackson, Bally Sports, nor the Clippers have issued any statements regarding the incident. It seems unlikely that Jackson will face reprimands, considering it was a verbal slip, and the fact that he’s Black adds to the understanding that it was a simple twist of the tongue.
