“Nobody talks about MJ and the Wizards” Colin Cowherd believes LeBron James has nothing to prove anymore

Colin Cowherd, Michael Jordan and LeBron James

Colin Cowherd has made his way back to the NBA headlines. As recently, his take on LeBron James’ legacy and future in the league went viral all over the internet. There’s no doubt about the fact that King James is one of the greatest players to ever set a foot on the basketball court and he’s also up there in the G.O.A.T conversation. As the evergreen debate of Michael Jordan vs LeBron James is still alive and will probably be in chain for decades. But Colin Cowherd has added another viewpoint of his to the story while discussing LBJ’s legacy and future as he believes he’ll retire in Los Angeles being a Laker and wearing the purple and yellow jersey.

LeBron James is eligible to sign a two-year extension with the Lakers and there are no sign of him even thinking about leaving L.A right now. As he has his family and even business set right out there. So Colin Cowherd seeing Bron retire there is very understandable. But again that can’t be claimed or predicted as the superstar has a dream of sharing the court with his elder son Bronny James. So him going for a lesser market team won’t shock anyone around as he already has got the bag and that will not impact his legacy at all. As Colin Cowherd speaking about it brought in a Michael Jordan and Tom Brady comparison.

Colin Cowherd on LeBron James’ legacy

Colin Cowherd speaking about LeBron James’ legacy and future on his podcast “The Herd” mentioned that: “Nobody talks about MJ (Michael Jordan) and the Wizards. … Like, we remember the good times. We’re gonna remember Miami LeBron, Cleveland LeBron, and bubble season-winning-a-title LeBron. … (Tampa Bay Buccanners quarterback Tom) Brady could have his worst year ever as a pro (at age 45). In 10 years, nobody cares.”

Honestly, Colin Cowherd isn’t wrong with his take. As the last years of a superstar’s career aren’t mentioned or remembered that much compared to what he was and what he did and achieve in his prime years. LeBron James though is an exception as he’s just getting better and better and has probably battled out the father time. Next season he’ll have a shot at the all-time scoring record of the league and he also has the record for the biggest triple-double ever and he’s entering his 20th season in the league. So yeah he’s got nothing to prove but can still add a lot to it. The coming season though is going to be important for the Lakers personally, after all the disrespect they have faced since calling an early wrap last season. As they didn’t even make it to the play-in tournament and were very disappointing.
