“LeBron to me is the right star, Tim Duncan was the right star” Colin Cowherd believes Stephen Curry, Warriors are coming for more glory
Colin Cowherd praises Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors
Golden State Warriors reached NBA Finals, dominating the Western Conference more convincingly than many may have expected. This resulted in Colin Cowherd suggest that 3-Point King, Stephen Curry is the “right” guy to lead the team to more glory. Cowherd, on his talk show “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” talked about the 2022 Conference finalists and gave a huge boost to the Warriors, praising their team and more importantly their marquee leader.
For Cowherd, the Warriors are superior as a team among the 4 finalists in respective conferences and sees Stephen Curry as the perfect player to lead them to more glory. Considering the “keep ego aside” quality of Stephen Curry and the whole team, Cowherd analyses the Warriors as a perfect team who have a legitimate chance to win it all in the postseason. He compares Curry to former leaders like Tim Duncan and LeBron James who won titles in their leadership, along with influential plays.
As per the sports analyst Cowherd, all finalists are talented and have stars to win matches for them, but the Golden State team edges out others in many departments. Also, he pointed out some motivations for each of the stars in the Warriors team, which could be an additional motivation to perform at the highest level.
“Good Luck everybody else” Colin Cowherd puts a bet on the Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors approaching NBA Finals
The 2022 season is nearing its conclusion with 4 teams involved in the Conference finals. The Warriors advanced to the NBA Finals at expense of the Dallas Mavericks and will be checking on the winner between Miami Heat and Boston Celtics for the Finals showdown. All 3 remaining teams are hugely talented and deserved to be in the position they are in
But 58-years old Colin Cowherd sees The Warriors at a different level than all other challengers in the league. As per Cowherd and former Warriors player Matt Barnes, Dubs players are playing only for the win, keeping their egos aside. This separates them from the rest of the league and gives them an edge in the matchups.
Especially for the Warriors’ leader Stephen Curry, has some special comments, as he said, “Steph is a star and he acts like one of the guys. There is not a single player in the league that moves like Steph off the ball. It’s a constant perpetual working to get the ball, working off screens, cutting to get open, elevating others, breaking the people down, finding the next guy.”
For his leadership and work ethic, Colin compared him t LeBron James and Tim Duncan – two players who led their team to the glory with selfless plays and were great motivational factors for the team. Stephen Curry stayed with the team taking some pay cut to add Kevin Durant back in 2017, proving Colin’s point.
As per Colin, winning the 4th title could be a motivational factor for Stephen Curry, but in addition to that winning his 1st finals MVP Award would add more fire to him. On similar grounds, he mentioned Steph’s Splash brother Klay Thompson, who would be out there to prove his point that he can still be n elite player post dreadful injury.
Draymond would also seek motivation for not winning the Defensive Player of the season award and Andrew Wiggins can also solidify his credentials as a good player –defending the best player of the opponent team and even adding 20 odd points to the team’s tally. Coli even sees a motivational point to prove for coach Kerr, as he might win a title after Kevin Durant snubs the Warriors in 2019.
With another starter, Kevon Looney improving drastically and a potent young core to support these charged-up veterans, Cowherd wishes Golden State Warriors opponents luck. He also considers that the Warriors have no flaw (least flaws to be fair) In their team, and style of play.
