“Whether you like him or not LeBron James is a uniter” Colin Cowherd regards Russell Westbrook’s influence as TOXIC
Russell Westbrook and Lebron James
This offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made a significant adjustment as they sacked Frank Vogel and replaced him with Darvin Ham as head coach. They will, however, have to make a few roster changes. They still have a lot of guys that don’t get along well, furthermore there is a serious shortage of shooting. LeBron James wants to win another championship, but he’ll have a tough time doing it unless the Lakers make some major changes and the departure of Russell Westbrook might be one of the adjustments according to Colin Cowherd.
Hiring of new Head Coach.
Darvin Ham, former Milwaukee assistant coach and NBA player, has been named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, an illustrious and pressure-filled position, given the team’s key crossroad with championship hopes but a seemingly divided lineup, Ham has been given an especially difficult assignment. “Defensively is where you’re going to see us make our biggest leaps and bounds”, Ham stated in the press conference. “It’s not just Russ. There’s going to be sacrifices LeBron has to make, AD has to make, all down the line through the rest of our roster, we have to start on the defensive end.”
Team 360 going all in for the championship next season?
With Anthony Davis(#3), LeBron James(#6),and Russell Westbrook(#0), the Lakers attempted to construct their own ‘Big 3’ last offseason and it resulted in a complete flop as they failed to make the playoffs in the 2021-22 season after everyone predicted them to win another championship. The health of Anthony Davis and LeBron James will be one of the major concerns for the LA Lakers next season. The two played a lot of games together, but they couldn’t help the team get out of its slump and the Los Angeles franchise does not have many components with which to add fresh players.

Lebron and Westbrook’s chemistry to be affected?
Darvin Ham, the Lakers’ new head coach, recently addressed on Russell Westbrook and his season with the team. Ham believes that there is still a ton left in Westbrook’s tank and that people shouldn’t write him off. While most fans agree with Ham, turning Westbrook into a decent player on this Lakers squad will be difficult after all. “Everybody works with LeBron. Whether you like it or not, LeBron is the great uniter, he’s the great lubricator, everybody, young, old, rookie, vet, over the hill, under it, it doesn’t matter, except Westbrook” said Cowherd. Cowherd explained why the LA Lakers should disregard LeBron James’ requests in the future if Westbrook wishes to stay.
Kevin Durant departed Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder, James Harden did the same in Houston a couple years later according to Cowherd. The Lakers are now attempting to part ways with their point guard and Westbrook, according to the expert, is toxic, which is why he isn’t a good match.
