Colin Cowherd scrutinizes ESPN’s “Michael Jordan Day” as a possible stunt to overshadow LeBron James’ crowning moment

LeBron James is on the cusp of rewriting history by breaking what is likely the most important record in basketball history. As the world is witnessing the King’s Greatness, ESPN opted to celebrate Michael Jordan Day on February 3, 2023, due to the 2-3-23 date sequence. The timing of this celebration was described as a “zany coincidence” by Colin Cowherd.

“Michael you know, is great. But Michael can be petty. He (LeBron) is in his (Jordan) head,” Cowherd said After he clarified that ESPN would not do this themselves. Furthermore, he also remarked this was not the first time the legendary Bulls player had performed such an action.

“What a coincidence the notoriously private MJ makes himself available for a 10-part series the minute LeBron is in the discussion for the greatest and now suddenly as LeBron is going to break the all-time scoring record, Michael Jordan day yeah I’m sure Nike had nothing to do with it I don’t blame.” Claimed Cowherd.

He further went on to say, “Pele during his lifetime after his greatness, walked the streets of Brazil. MJ hides. But suddenly, he was terribly available to do a ten-part series, sit down for multiple interviews.”

LeBron James is on verge of entering peak greatness

Lebron James

Prior to Thursday’s game, LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were only separated by 89 points as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s lead over him was reduced to 63 points with his 26 points, seven rebounds, and assists against the Indiana Pacers.

James will overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks if he doesn’t miss any games. According to rumors, Abdul-Jabbar will see James break his record at the Lakers’ future home games.

“I’m excited to see it happen. I don’t see records as personal accomplishments, but more as human achievements,” Adbul-Jabbar said ahead of the 2021-22 season. “If one person can do something that’s never been done, that means we all have a shot at doing it.”

” It’s a source of hope and inspiration. Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile back in 1954. Since then, not only have 1,400 runners beaten that time, but the new record is 17 seconds less. We all win when a record is broken and if LeBron breaks mine, I will be right there to cheer him on.”
