Though the term “Freak Time” soon became well-known, Lillard doesn’t seem to be planning on adopting the new label. Lillard recently stated that he was focused on his performance on the court and that he disapproved of the term during an appearance on the “#ThisLeague” podcast.

Following Lillard’s trade to the Bucks, which was a major development in the NBA, supporters quickly combined his and Antetokounmpo’s nicknames, “Dame Time” and “The Greek Freak,” to create “Freak Time.” While both fans and commentators have found amusement in this lighthearted moniker, Lillard is committed to focusing solely on the game.

Speaking in the podcast, Lillard stated, “I’m not invested in that at all,” Lillard said. “Everybody doing all this talking I’m just trying to play. I’ll leave that to everybody else.” With the new NBA season 2023-24 ready to begin, Lillard’s top aim is definitely to adjust quickly and help the Bucks succeed, as he only has a brief window of time to become acquainted with his new squad before to the official start of the season.
