Damian Lillard sends cryptic yet STRONG message to Trail Blazers about desire to leave franchise and join Heat

Just when the Basketball world thought that the Damian Lillard trade to the Miami Heat had taken a back seat, a cryptic tweet from Lillard himself arrived.

Lillard’s tweet reads,

Either you play the game or let the game play you and be that broke mf talking bout I stayed true.

This is a famous J Cole lyric, used in a basketball context. This is not the first time Lillard has resorted to such hints.

Damian Lillard allegedly wants to leave the Portland Blazers from time immemorial. In his pursuit of doing so, he and his agent have tried every trick in the book until they were called out by the NBA themselves to stop it. The lyric, from the song “See World” by J Cole, posted by him, may be suggesting that he doesn’t want to stay broke by staying in Portland, and not winning a ring even after trying so hard and giving his best.

All he wants right now, it feels as though, is a ring and according to him, his best shot will be at the Miami Heat, alongside Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. Heat is also showing interest according to NBA Insider Shams Charania.

Heat have been preparing a package around 3-to-4 first-round picks, potential pick swaps, second-round picks and a young player possibly for Dame.

According to Charania, if this offer gets rejected, Heat, being desperate enough, will make another offer.

Is Damian Lillard finally going to the Heat?

Oftentimes, players post cryptic tweets signals in the final few days before the trade bomb is dropped. There might be something cooking up as Lillard has referenced the trade in this cryptic tweet. Whether or not he decides to trade, he will be getting the bag. Now, getting the bag in which sense depends on him, his agent, and the team involved.

He will either have half a billion and be the best Blazer of all time, or have half a billion and be known as one of the guys who bounce from team to team playing ring lotto when his prime has taken a back seat. Now, this does not mean that Lillard is not capable of winning a ring, but given the newer talents in the league, Lillard’s admission to joining the Heat was taken in the same sense by NBA fans.

As the NBA season is fast approaching, it will be interesting to see how the dynamics play out and where Lillard end. If he does end up at the Heats, the reigning champions, they will surely be the biggest contenders for the ring this year, as per the fans.
